Meet The Inventor

Tereson Thomas - Inventor of Fuzzi Bunz Pocket DiapersTereson Thomas, 36, is the founder and CEO of Mother of Eden and the patent holder of Fuzzi Bunz pocket diapers. This young mother-of-three invented Fuzzi Bunz pocket diapers in January 1999 in response to her four-month old son, Eden's, chronic diaper rash.

Now that her invention is trusted and loved by moms around the world, we thought you might enjoy meeting the mom behind the diaper empire.

Q: What makes you happy?
A: Spending time with my three children, Sarah, Eden and Bennett, makes me happiest. They are the light of my life and help me get through each day.

Q: What is your greatest achievement?
A:
Personally, my children are my greatest achievement. I look at them and am in awe that they are mine. Professionally, it is very rewarding to have come up with an invention and then see it become the most popular alternative diapering system available today. I'm always amazed when I get letters from Fuzzi Bunz fans from around the world. I keep pinching myself to make sure it's all real.

Q: How do you feel now that you're babies are no longer in diapers?
A:
After eleven consecutive years of diapering, I have to admit that it's nice to be done. Although changing diapers can be a repetitive and sometimes unpleasant task, it also is a joyful time that symbolizes that there is a "baby in the house." I knew babyhood only lasted a short while, so I cherished those times. Now my family enjoys the freedom of three successfully potty trained children.

Q: Do you find it difficult to manage running a business and raising your children? How do you balance everything?
A:
I created this business so that I could stay home, raise my children and still make money. As the business grew, balancing everything certainly became more challenging. I decided to surround myself with good people to help me with the business so that I was still able to stay home with my children. It's a constant balancing act, but after many years of doing it, I feel much pride in what I have accomplished personally and professionally.

Q: What is your favorite color Fuzzi Bunz and why?
A:
This is a hard question! I like the orange Fuzzi Bunz best because orange says to me, “I'm Here!” and I like that. Lavender is a close second because it's delicate and feminine.

Q: What is the oddest Fuzzi Bunz story you've ever heard?
A:
Believe it or not, someone wrote us a letter saying that their Fuzzi Bunz worked great and that they never had a leak. I later found out that the person was using our product without the insert – she didn't know you had to put the insert in the pocket. I got a good chuckle out of that one.

Q: What is your favorite movie?
A:
I have two all time favorites: The Color Purple and Sixteen Candles.

Q: What is your favorite guilty pleasure?
A:
I love sleeping late on Sundays and staying in my pajamas all day.

Q: If you could meet one celebrity, who would it be and why?
A:
I've always wanted to meet Oprah Winfrey. She is an inspiration to all women. I like that.
