Sarah Shawhan recently switched her son (2nd child, at 16 months) to cloth diapers and says FuzziBunz One-Size and medium cloth diapers are her “main” squeeze diapers. She says, “I am in L O V E !!”
How did you first hear about FuzziBunz and modern cloth diapers?
I first learned about FuzziBunz through a friend on Facebook. She had just had her first son and made a few posts that piqued my curiosity. I ask her a few questions and she helped me find a great local store in the Kansas City area. I was constantly searching the Internet reading up on cloth diapers and was thoroughly impressed… it just took me awhile to give it a try.
Why do you cloth diaper?
I started cloth diapering because my son (16 months at the time) seemed to constantly have a bad rash all over his tush. I cloth diaper now because it’s fun and we love it!! I love the colors and choices and now even the laundry! (I never thought I would say I love laundry, LOL) Plus I love the money we’re saving. We’re in our 4th month of CDing.
Please share with us your best CD washing/caring tip
My best tip for washing is adding more hot water after my washer is done adding its standard amount. (Probably a void of warranty) I use a Hot, Cold, Cold cycle on my HE front loader. After the washer has filled up, I add 4 gallons (sometimes more) of hot water through the soap dispenser. I’m waiting for my husband to install a spout and hose to make that process easier.
What one word describes your parenting style?
Relaxed!
If you could be any TV or movie mom (real or character), who would it be and why?
Haha! We’ve joked before that we’re the real life “Everybody Loves Raymond” family! My husband can do no wrong in his mom’s eyes and I really have that MIL, though I adore her! I am a work from home mom, running a daycare, doing the best I can with all I’m given, making a great life for my kids. I love this little family my husband and I created!
