Today’s featured mama is Tiffany Monroe, mom to 5-month-old, Lenore. Lenore is looking quite adorable in her FuzziBunz One-Size Cloth Diaper and matching pink top!
1. How did you first hear about FuzziBunz and modern cloth diapers?
I was first clued in to cloth diapering by my supervisor in the military. She suggested a few brands for me to try, but I wasn’t fully convinced yet so I went online to research. I just Googled cloth diaper reviews and scoured numerous pages; learning about all the different types. It was mostly by chance that I gave FuzziBunz a try! There were so many good reviews on FuzziBunz as well as the other major cloth diaper brands, so I did an impulse buy of the FuzziBunz Perfect Size. Once Lenore lost her umbilical cord, we tested the Perfect Size and fell in love. Since then we’ve expanded to the One-Size and there are no complaints from us! Her grandmother even got a hang of them!
2. Why do you cloth diaper?
My father works as the Planning and Zoning Director in the County Courthouse and often dealt with the city’s landfill. That landfill was disgusting, and since it was created so long ago there was no protection under the build up… to think about all the substances contaminating that ground… I’m just doing my small part for nature. The overall cost savings don’t hurt either!!
3. Please share with us your best CD washing/caring tip!
I’m not terribly experienced yet, but I can say that I wouldn’t be without my tea tree oil! It took me by surprise and effectively eliminated any residual odors!! I use it in my wet diaper bag and on a clean cloth in the dryer.
4. What one word describes your parenting style?
I’m sure this is used a lot, but it’s so true for me: Nurturing
5. If you could be any TV or movie mom (real or character), who would it be and why?
The mother on the Incredibles! Who wouldn’t want stretchy limbs to do dishes, play with the baby, and pay bills all at the same time! Mothers are already psychologically wired to multi-task after the birth of a baby (did you know the brain actually changes its composition after delivery?!), but it wouldn’t hurt to have super powers to aid in that skill.
