Kelly Bratt was having a major exploding diaper problem until a relative donated a box of cloth diapers to the cause. Let’s get to know this cloth diapering mom a bit more:
Q. How have cloth diapers changed your life?
A. Cloth diapers have changed our lives in so many ways. With an exclusively breastfed baby up until 8 months, exploding diapers were pretty routine for us. Until we visited a family member who suggested cloth. She donated a box of 35 diapers to us and we were hooked. We haven’t had an explosion since switching! Sure we might have a few extra loads of laundry, but that saves a lot more than a box of ‘sposies. And we’re never worried about running out!
Q. What is your funniest diapering changing, poop or pee story?
A. This happened before we used cloth diapers. I’m not sure what it was about Wal-mart, but every single time I brought my daughter there, she would have a blow out. Of course my husband used the spare outfit stashed in the diaper bag and I had to cart my “diaper-only” baby to the infant department to buy a new outfit. The looks I got were so embarrassing. Kudos to Wal-mart for curing baby constipation!
Q. What do you find most rewarding about motherhood?
A. Lately, it’s been how sweet my almost 2 year old can be and knowing that I (or my husband) have taught her most of everything she knows. Motherhood proves how much of a teacher you are to your child. I love to see my daughter do new things and wonder where she got it from. Then I realize it’s a silly habit her dad or I have. It’s simply amazing.
Q. What was the last movie you watched / or last book you read? Tell us about it.
A. I watched “The 5th Quarter.” It was about a high school football player who was in a major car accident cause by his VERY STUPID friend. He had serious brain damage and was considered brain dead. His family had to pull the plug. Overall the movie could have been better, but it was a major tear-jerker!
Q. If you had 24 hours of freedom to do anything you wanted (and money wasn’t an object), what would you do?
A. Disney world! I’ve never been there and my husband isn’t a big theme park guy, but he loves Disney! So this would be where I would want to spend a day with my family!
