Monday Mama: Emily Fredrick Loves that Cloth Diapers Save Her Money and Grief From Diaper Rash

Emily Fredrick is a nature loving mama who would spend the day hiking if she could.  Let’s get to know this cloth diapering mom a bit more:

Q. How have cloth diapers changed your life?

A. Besides saving me money, they also save me the grief of rashes. Plus the different colors make changing time fun for my older boys.

Q. What is your funniest diapering changing, poop or pee story?

A. Well it has to do with EBF poo and my brother -in-law’s girlfriend’s purse.  She wanted to hold my son when he was five months old.  My fiance had put him in a loose pre-fold with a cover.  The diaper was sticking out at the legs and that’s when my son decided to make his daily BM. It squirted out onto her lap and ran down her white designer pocketbook.  She started screaming and I couldn’t stop laughing.

Q. What do you find most rewarding about motherhood?

A. I love the way my kids look at me with such loving eyes.  It melts my heart.

Q. What was the last movie you watched / or last book you read? Tell us about it.

A. You can tell I’m a mom because the last movie I watched was Megamind.  I must admit, I thought it was cute and watched it a few times with my three year old before returning it to the library.

Q. If you had 24 hours of freedom to do anything you wanted (and money wasn’t an object), what would you do?

A. I would go hiking in the mountains of West Virginia with just my mom. I would complete the day with a nice campfire and great food.  Since having kids, my mom and I haven’t had as much time to do stuff solo. I miss nature, silence and getting through a book in one day.
