Today’s Monday Mama is Shelby Valadez. She’s mom to two girls, ages 4 and 1.5. She has been cloth diapering since her oldest daughter was 5 months old and says she has “seen and tried it all!”
How did you first hear about FuzziBunz and modern cloth diapers?
I first heard about FuzziBunz and modern cloth diapering when I was expecting my oldest, Anna, back in 2006. [They were mentioned on] couple of blogs I used to read when I was pregnant. Cloth diapering sounded like a lot of fun and a great way to save money on something that is such an expensive part of my childrens’ lives.
Why do you cloth diaper?
I love that I am not contributing to the huge amount of waste out there, and if I have to do something so often that can be at times rather gross, why not make it fun for me too? Also, I loved the fact that I could have tons of cloth diapers for the cost of just a few boxes of diapers!
Please share with us your best CD washing/caring tip!
I rinse on cold and then wash on hot, once a week I use the sanitize cycle on my washer to make sure that my diapers are extra clean. I hang my diapers to dry and run the inserts through the dryer.
What one word describes your parenting style?
Busy!
If you could be any TV or movie mom (real or character), who would it be and why?
Well, I love Ashley Ann. She just has such a fun style, she’s creative and her kids have the best photos!
