Meet Tereson Dupuy, the CEO of FuzziBunz and Mother of the Modern Cloth Diaper. She’s a mother of three, diehard NOLA girl (NOLA stands for New Orleans, Louisiana), and loves a good snowball on a hot Louisiana day.
Tell us more about your role at FuzziBunz?
I am the CEO of FuzziBunz diapers. I founded the company in 2000 after my son, Eden, suffered with chronic diaper rash. Currently I work between my house and office, supervising ten employees and constantly working on new ideas to grow the company. It’s a fun job and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
What’s your favorite thing about working here?
My favorite thing is seeing the joy that people experience from using FuzziBunz cloth diapers. I love the happy stories, the pleased customers and the fact that less disposable diapers are making their way into landfills.
What’s your favorite thing to do on a Sunday afternoon?
During the fall, it’s watching football. Of the weather is appropriate, I enjoy cooking a good gumbo too.
What’s your favorite FuzziBunz color? Why?
Spearmint! I love this color because it reminds me of spearmint snowballs (snow-cones to the rest of the world). I have fond memories of sitting under large oak trees at “Sals Snowballs” on a hot summer day and enjoying the simple things, in life like my tongue turning green.
If you could sit down and chat with any one celebrity, who would it be?
It would be Ellen. She has done so much despite a lot of challenges she has faced both personally and professionally. She is also a NOLA girl (like me) and is always up-beat. I find that she marches to her own beat too, which I admire a lot.
Where is your dream vacation destination?
Ireland! Even though I am adopted and do not truly know my heritage, I have always felt a connection to Ireland. Maybe it’s my red hair?!? Ireland is on my top list of places to visit.
Who have been your role models?
Overall, my role models have been strong women who had to overcome adversity on the way to success. I think I have mirrored that in many ways. I have challenged the negative connotations surrounding cloth diapers and refused to believe this was a dead industry. I have also bounced back from a lot of personal challenges, such as divorce and single motherhood, and refused to give up on my dream to make FuzziBunz as successful of a company as possible.
