Why is it that my daughter poops in her Watermelon FuzziBunz cloth diaper more often than any other diaper?
Does this happen to anyone else? As I was dunking said Watermelon FuzziBunz in the toilet the other day, I had a flashback to dunking and swirling the same diaper earlier in the week. And the week before that. And then there was the time two weeks ago that this very same diaper sat, filled with poop, for two days on the back of the toilet (while I was working up the guts to rinse that particular doozy…but I vividly remember it was the watermelon diaper sitting there taunting me).
Is it just my imagination, or is it possible that she knows when she’s wearing the red one and it makes her want to go? Is there something about red that induces a bowel movement? Does she like the way it feels on her bottom? I honestly don’t have an answer, but I have a couple of theories how she could possibly poop more often in that diaper:
1. Since I love the watermelon diaper, perhaps I put her in it more often?
2. The fleece against her skin somehow feels different and gives her the urge to poop (sort of like how our friend says seat heaters make him feel)?
3. Maybe I put that diaper on her around the same time of day, which is also the time her bowels are on the move.
I try to be logical about it, but maybe it’s just one of those things that I’ll have to chalk up to a cloth diapering mystery. In the meantime, my husband and I have nicknamed it “the poop diaper” and we bet each other whether she’ll actually poop in “the poop diaper.” Loser changes the next poo diaper. And since she’s really into eating mandarin oranges right now, let’s just say that the diaper changes and subsequent toilet dunking are not fun.
Does anyone else have a “poop diaper” or is this all in my head?
