Lafayette, Louisiana (October 7, 2010) – FuzziBunz® cloth diapers today announces at the 8th Annual ABC Kids Expo in Las Vegas the launch of its greenest diapering solution yet, the FuzziBunz Hemp™ one-size cloth diaper. This latest addition to the award-winning FuzziBunz cloth diaper line will include a super-absorbent hemp insert rather than a cotton, microterry insert.
FuzziBunz Hemp cloth diaper inserts are made of 55% natural hemp and 45% certified organic cotton. The hemp is biodegradable too, making FuzziBunz ultra-green! LAFAYETTE, Louisiana – Tereson Dupuy knows about solving problems. When the inventor of the modern cloth diaper and founder of FuzziBunz® cloth diapers heard about a program pleading for supplies to help clean up the oil spill along the Gulf shore, the Louisiana native realized she could help. Today, Dupuy and the company are officially announcing a nationwide drive to put the ultra-absorbent materials used in her cloth diapers and other baby materials to a different use for animal rescue and clean up.
After watching the recent oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico devastate her family’s favorite beaches, precious wildlife and threaten the way of life for her hometown of New Orleans, Dupuy wanted to help. “The rescue workers are in need of absorbent materials and we are in the business of manufacturing one of the most absorbent materials around, so it’s a no-brainer,” she says. “I’m so glad we can do our part to help in this attack on nature right in our backyard.”
Dupuy and FuzziBunz® are putting out a nationwide call for old cloth diaper inserts (the absorbent material stuffed inside pocket-diapers like FuzziBunz®), pre-fold diapers, baby blankets, burp cloths, microfiber towels or other absorbent fabrics and the company’s warehouse is serving as a central drop-off point for these items. These specific items will be used to care for, clean and transport wildlife. The effort is called “Cloth for the Coast” and has a dedicated website: www.CommunityfortheCoast.org.
Donations of gently used cloth diapers are also being accepted. While diapers with Velcro, snaps, or elastic cannot be used for cleaning, there is a dire need in the low income communities where the families have been most affected by the spill. Dupuy is currently seeking assistance from Catholic Charities and United Way to identify families in need of donated diapers and is willing to work with these families on transitioning to cloth. By switching to donated reusable diapers, such as FuzziBunz®, these families will save thousands of dollars that would normally be spent on disposables.
“Since the oil spill, people who don’t normally ‘think green’ are giving the environment more thought. I’m glad that I am so close and do something to help make this happen,” says Dupuy. “And I have been overwhelmed by the response from the cloth diapering community so far. I knew they would pull together and do what they could during this environmental tragedy. Now they can recycle diapers for people in need as well.”
Diapers and blankets gathered at the FuzziBunz® warehouse will be organized by local volunteers and distributed to wildlife organizations in bulk. Families around the country wishing to help can donate items by sending directly to FuzziBunz® at:

Diapers going around the world to help orphaned children, military families
LAFAYETTE, Louisiana – Leading cloth diaper manufacturer, FuzziBunz®, announced that the company is wrapping up a cloth diaper donation blitz today that brought new diapers to needy babies around the world in the past month.
FuzziBunz® partnered with such remarkable organizations as the Kyabakuza Baby House and The Malayaka House, both in Uganda, Love a Child, Inc in Fond Parisien, Haiti and Operation Showers of Appreciation in this country to provide pocket-style cloth diapers and further the company’s tradition of caring for the world’s children. These latest donation puts the total number of diapers the company has donated over five thousand since the company began in 1999.
“In this country, we take clean diapers for granted,” said Tereson Dupuy, inventor and president of FuzziBunz®. “But around the world, millions of orphaned children and the wonderful people who care for them may not have access to basic supplies.”
“Ever since I started this company, I’ve made it a priority to give away diapers to those in need,” Dupuy continues. “Without access to simple trash removal or storage, cloth diapers are often one of the biggest needs for these homes for orphaned children. It’s very important to me and to this company to continue to share FuzziBunz® and make a difference to these great kids.”
The Kyabakuza Baby House, Uganda
After learning about the Kyabakuza Baby House in Uganda from a family friend, Ian Woldt, an Eagle Scout, decided to take on the Baby House as his Eagle Scout Service Project. Woldt, 14, has raised money and provided necessities to the organization and will be traveling to Uganda this summer. The Malayaka House, Uganda
A growing orphanage in Uganda, the Malayaka House, is close to FuzziBunz’® heart. The company has donated diapers in the past and sent an additional 100 diapers with volunteer, Ashley George, in May. Since the first donation a few years ago, the children have been rid of diaper rash and the organization has saved thousands of dollars they would have spent on disposable diapers. Haiti has long been a recipient of donated FuzziBunz®, but since the country’s devastating earthquake FuzziBunz® has a renewed interest in keeping orphaned children dry and comfortable. Missionaries, Bobby and Sherry Burnette, have been living in Haiti since 1991 with the goal of reducing poverty. They live in and run the Love A Child Orphanage where the diapers will benefit babies. Levi Alves McConaughey may be the next Hollywood baby in cloth diapers
LAFAYETTE, La. – When baby Levi was born to proud parents, Matthew McConaughey and Camilla Alves, Mother of Eden, the makers of the patented FuzziBunz® pocket-style cloth diapers, in collaboration with BopStarBaby, a celebrity gifting company, sent the McConaughey family a starter set of FuzziBunz® cloth diapers.
